Statistics of the National Bank on money transfers for the 1st half of 2014

In the August issue of “Herald of the National Bank of Ukraine” published a review article about remittance market in Ukraine. According to statistics of National Bank of Ukraine in 2014 remains high demand for money transfer services, including international ones.

In the first half of 2014 19 remittance systems (non-residents) have provided services in Ukraine. Compared to the same period of 2013, the amount of international transfers received in Ukraine has decreased by 3.5% and amounted to $ 1 806,5 million. The total amount of money transfers sent from Ukraine decreased compared to the previous year by 3% to $ 248 million.

Part of the international money transfer systems customers used for the transfer (both in foreign and local currency) within Ukraine. The total amount of money transfers in local currency amounted to UAH 139.6 million, in foreign currency – $ 143 thousand.

The average amount of transfer in Ukraine for the period from January to June 2014 amounted to USD 423. The average amount transferred from Ukraine – USD 506 (in equivalent).

Market division between the systems leaders of international transfers in the first half of 2014 has not changed compared to the same period in 2013.
